Dear Above Board PS/PC User:
This diskette contains an alternate program for setting and
loading the Above Board PS/PC clock, ABCLOCK.
Above Board user Dr. E. Michael Perdue developed ABCLOCK and
placed it in the public domain. ABCLOCK is useful in situations
where the Intel CLOCK.SYS device driver does not work. For
example, ABCLOCK allows fractional second time increments from
the system clock. Some graphics programs, keyboard utilities,
and data acquisition software requires fractional seconds.
USING ABCLOCK WITH THE INTEL ABOVE BOARD PS/PC:
1. Remove CLOCK.SYS from the config.sys file.
{ABCLOCK will not work if the Intel CLOCK.SYS device driver is
loaded.}
2. Copy the file ABCLOCK.COM from this diskette to your system
disk root directory.
3. Add the command ABCLOCK to your autoexec.bat file
SETTING THE DATE AND TIME WITH ABCLOCK:
Enter the following command from the DOS prompt
ABCLOCK /TIME=HH:MM:SS/DATE=MM-DD-YY
This sets the date and time on the Above Board clock. It is also
possible to set only the time or date by using just one parameter
on the command line.
Because ABCLOCK was developed outside Intel, we do not cover it
with our product warranty. Our thanks to Dr. Perdue for
creating this program and allowing us to distribute it.
